Kecemerlangan Kejuruteraan Dalam Pembangunan Negara/Engineering Excellence in Nation Building 20.04.09

This one came as a surprise from Malaysia, commemorating the nation's engineering excellence in nation building.
Once again, thanks Mum for the efforts!

Caring Society/Masyarakat Penyayang 09.10.09

This set of Malaysian stamps are to acclaim the rights of children who are the future of a country according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child(CRC), article 45.
With Unicef's help in implementing it, hopefully we will witness a better future for everyone.
Hak Mendapat Makanan/Right to Food
Hak Mendapat Pendidikan/Right to Education
Hak Mendapat Perlindungan/Right to Protection
Thanks Mum for managing the FDI postmarks for me!
I did not manage to do any in regards to 'Right to Play' and the RM1 CRC Stamp, which is a shame, but Mum did, so check hers out anyway!

Let's Get Active! 06.10.09

I love the Let's Get Active edition, the cartoon illustration of sports are just so cute!
Here're the some that I managed, though I wish there were more, as the sports theme is common and postcards are probably easier to find.
Check Mum's out here: *click here*
Aren't they cute! x D

[this one's an addition later on due to the Beckham postcard that got lost and hence, Ronaldinho was its replacement lol]

Classic Toys: Barbie 25.09.09

Found these really sweet postcards online, and thought it looked PERFECT for the Classic Toys Barbie edition. These just came back from the Philatelic Bureau, and they look beautiful!!! :)

Stargazing: The Southern Skies 25.08.09

Took it 1 whole month to get back to me; I practically gave up hope and considered it lost like the Bush Babies ones... but yay! Here it is, and I'm pretty happy with the outcome (slight smudges only lol)!!! : )

Love Series 09.09.09

In conjunction with my parents' wedding anniversary, some love postcards with the 9th of September postmark.

This caused an unpleasant experience at my local post office: the clerk was very reluctant to postmark my maxicards, and when I offered to do it myself she claims that customers cannot handle the stamp. Hence I requested for her to be more careful as the ink'll smudge easily, she told me off by saying if I was not happy with her service, I was most welcomed to take this elsewhere, and that I was taking up her time when she could be serving paying customers. I would love to point out to her the stamps on my maxicards didn't exactly fall from the heavens, but I didn't want to make a scene.

Am contemplating a complaint but will see about that later.

Happy 31st anniversary mum & dad!!

Upside down postmark lol

My personal favourite

Some not so traditional ones.. can't imagine any future stamp issues with a partial jeans' pocket so what the heck... haha..

Check out mum's 090909 maxicards done in Malaysia!

I shall take credit for the beautiful postcards for the Hearts collection!!
Bought an entire box of them from Sportsgirl!!
Lovely, aren't they?
More Roses one to come when mum's free to update. : )

Earth Hour

Just wished that I could get the FDI postmark and that the ink was darker. Hehs.

Australian Bush Babies 01.07.09

My first maxicard with an FDI postmark!! :)

The 2nd set I sent over to Gumly Gumly for postmarking with kangaroos and possums never came back; it's been two months already, despite them reassuring me they found it and already mailed it back. Sigh~

2009 Australian Legends of the Screen: Nicole Kidman 22.01.09

This was my first attempt at creating maxicards, and I remember I was so excited over this, when I first returned to Australia from Summer break, and there was the Australian Legend 2009 collection with Nicole Kidman, and I remembered I had her Australia movie promotion postcards stashed in my loot, put two and two together, I have a maxicard!!

Only sad thing was, it was already past the window to obtain the Australian Legend FDI postmark, so I went and got the maxicards postmarked at University of Melbourne's Post Office to commemorate the fact that Nicole Kidman used to attend the Victorian College of Arts, which now is part of University of Melbourne. I suppose that's as good as it gets.

Being the amateur I am, or maxicards being a rare interest in Melbourne, the clerk wasn't too careful with the postmarking, hence resulting in a rather disappointing first attempt for me.

You could barely make out the words 'Melbourne University' with the smudged ink, and these two are considered the best out of the six I have. Sigh~
But a good first experience nonetheless.

The Obligatory Introduction

Due to heavy influence in the family, I've fallen for the challenge and beauty in creating maximum cards, or maxicards, as they're plainly known. As my loving mum put it, I'm the last in the family to 'convert', hahaha, as my brothers, sister and mum herself are all ahead of me in creating maxicards.

Thanks to my mom's encouragement, :P and her help and advice I shall document my very amateur maxicard attempts here.

Some are not very traditional (don't quite fulfill the 3 main rules of maximaphily) and some are what I suppose would be rated as.. Moderate, or Mediocre if any maxicard guru is to assess them, LOL.

But well, I have to start somewhere, eh, and what better way to improve myself if not from my mistakes?

Constructive feedback welcomed. : )
