This issue of stamps, also released on my birthday, commemorates three significant powered flights in Australia. The following planes are: a modified Wright Model A, an Australian-designed biplane and a Voisin flew by Harry Houdini.

Hope you enjoyed them!!

Come To The Show 23.03.2010

This fun issue highlights the activities held at royal shows in the Australian agricultural societies. Looks like a really big fun fair, but I doubt if shows these days have wood chopping or cake decorating competitions. I have yet to attend the Royal Melbourne Show despite being in Melbourne for two years; perhaps I should make it a point to visit this year. : )

*Super pretty stamp sheet*

For some reason, the postmarking turned out slightly lighter than usual. Nonetheless, still a job well done by the Philatelic Bureau.

Did not find any cow related postcards though, but do check out Mum's she's got heaps of nice ones :)

Australian Commonwealth Coinage 1910-2010 23.02.2010

This marks the 100th year since Australia first issued coins in it's own right as legal tender for the entire country. The pictorial design on the coins features King Edward VII and the Australian coat of arms on the other.

So happy to have found this postcard!! :)

Earth

A random one with a picture of the earth and a twinkle on it, whereas on the stamp there's a twinkle above the Australasian continent. Too bad the postmark is not evident, due to the dark background.
